Is my audio data private?

Yes. Transcription is performed locally on your device using Whisper. Only the resulting text is sent to the AI for formatting, never your audio files.

How long can my recordings be?

Free users can record up to 5 minutes per note. Cleft Plus subscribers can record up to 30 minutes per note.

Does it work offline?

You can record notes while offline. The app will save the recording and sync it to the cloud for AI processing once you have an internet connection.

Can I share my subscription with my family?

Yes, Cleft Plus supports Apple Family Sharing for up to 6 family members if purchased through the App Store after December 2024.

What happens to my audio after transcription?

Audio is saved temporarily for transcription and is auto-deleted 1 hour after upload. You have the option to download the original audio before it is removed.

Do you offer a student discount?

Yes, students can email students@cleftnotes.com with valid verification to receive a 50% discount on Cleft Plus.
