About Flare

What the tool does and who it's for

Flare is an open-source, graph-first IDE and interactive map designed for agentic coding. Unlike traditional tools that provide simple chat logs, Flare visualizes your codebase as a live graph where every file is represented as a node and every import as an edge. Underneath the map is a real terminal where you can run coding agents like Claude, Codex, or OpenCode. As agents edit files, the graph updates in real time, attributes each write to its author, and notifies you when edits impact dependent imports. Additionally, Flare snapshots change bursts to local history for easy diffing and reverting, allows agents to pick up tasks from a board over MCP (Model Context Protocol), runs entirely locally on your machine without requiring an account, and is released under the MIT license.
