NullOrigin is an open-source local proxy that intercepts and neutralizes AI watermarks and provenance metadata in transit. Built for researchers and privacy-focused developers, it allows users to point OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini SDKs directly to localhost. NullOrigin routes streaming text through a local SLM (such as Llama 3.2 via Ollama) to perform span-constrained paraphrasing, reseeding n-gram transitions to mathematically destroy statistical watermarks like KGW. Additionally, it strips C2PA and EXIF metadata from generated images and scans code for Trojan Source vulnerabilities (CVE-2021-42574).
