About TAKT

What the tool does and who it's for

TAKT (TAKT Agent Koordination Topology) is an open-source CLI that turns AI coding agents into repeatable, declarative YAML workflows. Designed to eliminate constant supervision ('babysitting') of AI agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, and GitHub Copilot CLI, TAKT enforces explicit planning, implementation, review, and fix loops. Each step in a TAKT workflow receives its own persona, policy, and isolated context so reviews cannot be silently skipped. Tasks execute inside isolated Git worktrees with automated quality gates (build, lint, test), loop monitors to prevent infinite token spend, and OTLP tracing for complete end-to-end auditability.

Key capabilities

Declarative YAML Workflows: Define planning, implementation, review, and fix loops as explicit state-machine steps.
Faceted Prompting: Separate prompts into distinct personas, policies, knowledge, instructions, and output contracts per step.
Unskippable Review Loops: Enforce mandatory parallel multi-reviewer steps with automatic routing back to fix steps when findings occur.
Multi-Provider Support: Seamlessly mix and coordinate Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, GitHub Copilot CLI, and Kiro CLI.
Isolated Git Worktrees: Tasks run in isolated Git worktree clones to avoid polluting your main working tree.
Automated Quality Gates: Automatically run build, lint, and test checks before completing a workflow step.
Loop Monitors: Automatically detect and stop runaway infinite review-fix cycles to save API costs.
Full Observability: Track session logs, per-step reports, and OTLP traces for complete auditability from task queue to PR.
